First Due House Fire

 

April 20th - A nine run day ended with a first due house fire at 0352 hours at 2374 Green Street.

0831: SQ41 to I-81, had a fluid spill.

0936: SQ41 and E43 to I-81 for the MVA.

1033: B44, E43 and E45 to 5823 Mountain Rd, had a woods fire.

1700: E45 to 4763 Letterkenny Rd for an outside investigation.

1713: SQ41 and E45 to 544 E Queen St for fire in a multi-family. Food on stove.

2226: SQ41 to 7646 Edenville Rd for the MVA.

2231: SQ41 to 3119 Wayne Rd for the MVA.

0039: E45 and T42 to 1320 LWE for AFA.

0352: E45 and T42 to 2374 Green St for the house.  Units arrived on scene to find fire on side C and extension into the garage attic.  Crews were informed upon arrival of possible children inside.  Searches were done to find negative on entrapment.  Fire was controlled in approx 20 mins.

April 16th - Another busy day at the "Big House"

0615 hours: E45 and SQ41 for the MVA on I-81 at MM 15. Found 1 auto in the median. 

1342 hours: SQ41 to 653 Hillcrest Ave for the pedestrian struck. Child vs mini-van.

1537 hours: E45 and B44 to 2054 Grand Point Rd. Illegal burning.

1630 hours: E43 transfer to Co 7 while Da Ville was on a brush fire.

1656 hours: SQ41 to 700 block of Roxbury Rd for the "aircraft down". Had a glider down in a field.

1746 hours: SQ41 and E45 to 3587 Molly Pitcher Hwy South. Found 1 auto with 1 fatality.

Triple Entrapment

 

April 14th - Three patients were flown out from this  accident in front of 1653 Philadelphia Ave at 1054 Thursday morning. DC47 had Command of the 2 car head on collision which took 5 ambulances, 3 medic units, 2 helicopters, 2 squads and 1 engine company. The "Big House" extricated 3 entrapped patients in 11 minutes. A11-9 had EMS Command while AC 48 took the Rescue Sector. Units cleared at 1156 hours.

 

 


8 Runs

 

April 13th - Members got an early start to a busy day on Wednesday. An 0519 auto accident for SQ41 at 1837 Wayne Rd was followed by an 0542 alarm bells run to 2475 McCleary Dr. for E45 and SQ41. 

E45 and SQ41 responded at 0954 to 1050 Superior Ave for the building fire. Crews found a small fire on the roof. E45 and B44 responded to the Dollar General Store at 4052 Philadelphia Ave for a mulch fire at 1141. Crews got a short lunch break before responding to 1350 Stanley Ave Extended for a shed fire at 1356. County Dispatch then reported it as a garage fire. Units found a woods fire next to the shed/garage structure. E45 pulled an 1 1/2" line for attack. E43 and SQ41 staged. B44 and UT44 assisted Co 7 with a mountain fire at the top mountain on Ridge Rd. Crews were dispatched at 1530 and returned at 1646.

The "Big House" received a call at the station for a field fire on Crottlestown Rd at 1923. B44 responded and cleared at 1947. The 8th run came at 2327 for fire in room 121 at 1095 Wayne Ave, Ramada Inn. DC 47 marked on scene with smoke showing from side A. Found food on the stove with heavy smoke in the public hallway.

Three Fires in Two Hours

 

April 11th -The "Big House" started the day off with several working fires.  The first fire was dispatched at 0855 hours to 640 Mickey Inn Ln Lot 5 for a mobile home fire.  Sgt 44 and Greene Twp employees arrived on scene to find 1 bedroom on fire.  Sgt 44 assumed command 44.  Ac48 arrived on scene and took interior command.  Fire was knocked down with a PW.  Eng 13-1 arrived and placed a line in service to mop up the bedroom.  Command held E45, E13-1, and E7-1 for overhaul.  Units cleared the scene at 0949 hours.  

           Truck 42 responded at 0915 hours from the above incident to 56 Linden Avenue in Mercersburg to assist on another house fire.  T42 arrived on scene and assisted with overhauling the attic.  Fire was controlled and the overhaul was completed.  Units cleared the scene at 1104 hours.  

           While the truck was busy in Mercersburg, The "Big House" handled another fire on Tallow Hill Road.  E45 and BR44 responded at 1013 hours for a brush fire.  Units arrived on scene and quickly extinguished the fire.  Units cleared the scene at 1035 hours.
