Tractor Trailer Fire

 

April 29th - At 1842 E43 and SQ41 were alerted on box 44-81-7 for a tractor trailer on fire.  Units arrived to find fire in the sleeper cab.  Crews extinguished the fire and performed some minor overhaul. the "BIG HOUSE" responded with 12 personnel and cleared at 1928.

 


Free 2006 Ford Explorer

 

April 28th - Crest Ford awarded the "BIG HOUSE" a 2006 Ford Explorer free for 2 years. The dealership accepted applications from non-profit organizations then after the review process they notified the station to come pick it up on Saturday at 1pm.

 

  


Structure Fire in the Mountain

 

April 27th - T42, E43 and E45 responded into Co. 7's area for the unknown type of structure fire at 7:06pm. DC-7 arrived to find a cabin well off. E7-2 advanced a line to side C and found 3 large propane cylinders venting and burning off. Trucks 17 and 42 worked to overhaul what was left of the building while the Engine Companies shuttled water. The "BIG HOUSE" cleared at 10:09pm with 19 members.

Auto Accident With Entrapment

 

April 22nd - At 1201 hours E43 assisted Co. 8 with an auto accident at the intersection of Warmspring Rd and Social Island Rd. E43 arrived and assisted in removing the patient from the vehicle. Station 4 crews went available at 1220 hours.


Accident Involving a School Bus

 

April 21st - At 11:21am SQ41 and E43 responded to 2194 Lincoln Way West for an auto accident involving a school bus.  SQ41 arrived to find one pickup truck into the rear of a school bus. Two patients were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The "BIG HOUSE" responded with 15 personnel and cleared the scene at 11:49am

 


Accident Victim Stuck in a Tree

 

April 17th - The "BIG HOUSE" extricated one person from a tree after being ejected from a vehicle. Units were alerted to I-81 at 10:57pm for a MVA with fire. LT-15 arrived to find one vehicle, no fire and the pt stuck in a tree. SQ41 and the EMS units set up a ladder and assisted the pt down. The vehicle apparently flipped end over end and threw the pt out a window or sunroof into the tree. Six members from Station 4 cleared at 11:17pm.


Landing Zone

 

April 12th - Co. 18 was dispatched for an auto accident with ejection on Snider Road.  Chief 18 requested air medical which sent E43 at 5:33pm to the intersection of Shields Road and Snider Road to setup the landing zone for Life Lion. E43 arrived and coned off a 100' by 100' area in the field at the intersection.  E43's crew assisted in hot loading the patient. Members cleared the incident at 6:13pm.

 


Fatal MVA on I-81

 

April 8th - SQ41 and E43 responded to I-81 north bound at mm19 for the tractor trailer overturned. Enroute HQ advised they were receiving conflicting reports and there maybe a passenger car involved with possible entrapment. C46 moved operations to channel 2. AC48 arrived at 3:41am to find one auto head on into a tractor trailer with the tractor trailer on its side. Found the driver of the auto heavily entrapped. Medic 100 advised DOA. Crews remained on scene until PSP and the County Coroner completed their investigation and then extricated the victim. The "BIG HOUSE" responded with 11 personnel and cleared at 7:18am.


Kitchen Fire

 

April 5th - Just before 6pm, SQ41 responded with Co1 to 1071 Wayne Ave for fire in the kitchen. AC1-1 arrived at a Denny's resturante to find heavy smoke from the roof. SQ41 assisted T-1 with checking for extension on the roof. Found the fire was extinguished by the hood system with minor extension into the duct work. Station 4 responded with 5 on the Squad and 9 POV for a total of 14.


Person Trapped Under A Tree

 

April 2nd - At 1436 hours Co. 1 units special requested B44 to assist with a person trapped under a tree at 246 South Stonegate Circle. B44 crew assisted Co.1 in removing the patient from under the tree as well as boarding and loading the patient. 8 members from Sta 4 cleared the scene at 1502 hours.
