Is It Out Yet?

 

November 26th - At 0429 hours E1-4 was dispatched to the area of Hood and Commerce St for an outside investigation. While investigating the PD found an auto fire to the rear of Rife Motors. At 0436 Station 4 was dispatched to assist E1-4.  E43 arrived on the scene to find one auto fully involved. The fire was quickly knocked down but due to the fuel line being ruptured,  numerous flare-ups resulted in using alot of water. Class A and B foam were both used to extinguish the fire. Station 4 units returned to service at 0603 hours.


One Into The House

 

November 22nd - Station 4 responded to 1336 Warmspring Rd for the MVA. C46 arrived with one into a pole and one into a house. Crews checked the structural stability of the house while EMS treated 1 pt. Units cleared at 1742 hours.

 

  

  


Four Car Accident

 

November 21st - Communications dispatched several MVA's on Tuesday including this one at the intersection of Edenville and Johnson. Units arrived at 2:45pm to find 2 SUV's, 1 truck and 1 mini van involved. EMS treated 2 minors and 1 adult. SQ41 handled the vehicle hazards before clearing at 3:15pm.

 

At 7:14pm E43, E45 and T42 responded on the 11-05 box to 5732 Elser Dr. C46 marked on scene with a working fire and took Command until the arrival of Chief 11. E43 finished the split lay from Eng Co 11 to the hydrant. Eng 13-1 put a quick knock on it. Station 4 conducted a primary search and assisted with overhaul. Units cleared at 8:26pm.

 

The "BIG HOUSE" would like to congratulate Probationary Firefighter Rodney Grenke on his recent graduation from the Alexandria City Fire Academy. FF Grenke started his first day at T204-B today and missed a fire at home. Welcome to shift work!


Auto Accident With Confinement

 

November 16th -  SQ41 was alerted at 2105 hours to the intersection of Grindstone Hill Rd and Wayne Rd for an auto accident. SQ41 arrived on the scene and assisted Co. 17 with "popping" the rear passenger side door of a passenger vehicle, as well as assisted EMS with loading the patient. SQ41 returned available at 2134 hours.


Auto Accident

 

November 14th -  Station 4 was dispatched to the intersection of Grandpoint Rd and Kohler Rd for an auto accident at 7:19pm.  SQ41 arrived on the scene to find one vehicle into a utility pole with the pole sheared off. Crews controlled hazards and returned to service at 7:37pm
 


Structure Fire

 

November 10th - Three hours after clearing the train accident, Station 4 units were alerted for hay bails on fire next to the building. Co 18 arrived at 2186 Shields Rd to find a 75' x 40' structure well involved. E43 and E45 set up two water supply sites while T42 positioned on side C. Units remained on scene for several hours before clearing at 6:02pm.

Tractor Trailer vs Train

 

November 10th - SQ41 responded to MPHS and Overcash Rd at the request of AC 8 to assist with a fuel leak as a result of a MVA. Co 8 units had a train into a tractor trailer. SQ41 arrived at 10:56am and assisted E8-1 and EMA with a large diesel fuel leak. Crews managed to stop the leak with some plugs, puddy and pressure packing. Command 8 released the Squad at 11:45am.


Auto Accident and Box Alarm

 

November 7th - Co 8 responded to 5849 Front St for wires. Units arrived at 7:31am to find a power line down and smoke in the basement of a nearby home. AC8 filled the box which brought E43 and T42. After a short investigation Command 8 held ET 8 and E8-1.

 

SQ41 and E43 responded to a MVA at 3:15pm in the 700 block of Sollenberger Rd. Units found one vehicle into a pole with one injury.

Auto Accident With Entrapment

 

November 3rd - Station 4 units were alerted at 1736 hours for an auto accident on Lincoln Way East in the area of the I 81 overpass. While enroute headquarters advised of a possible head injury. DC47 arrived on the scene and confirmed the dispatch.  DC47 also requested air medical and advised of entrapment. SQ41 arrived on the scene and had to remove a 4' section of the guard rail to expose the passenger side of the vehicle, as well as "pop" the passenger door to remove the patient. Extrication of the patient was made within 11 minutes. Units cleared the scene at 1855 hours.
