Industrial Fire, Truck Rollover and House Fire

 

November 29th -  Co 1 and SQ41 responded to 2 fires today. The first was to 811 Progress Rd at 3:20am. Units found fire in some large duct work on the roof. After a lengthy disassembling, crews were able to extinguish the burning rubber and return to service just after 6am. E43 ran a transformer explosion at 2655 MPHS around 8:30am. Had a live power line down across a gasoline tank. E43 stood by until the power was cut then went available at 9am. Station 4 went to 3420 Letterkenny Rd at 1:42pm for the MVA. SQ41 and E43 arrived to find a pick up truck on its roof. Found 1 pt with minor injuries. The second fire of the day came out at 7:13pm. Co 1 and SQ41 responded for smoke coming from the house at 433 Cedar St. AC1-1 arrived with a working fire. Members found a small fire on the first floor with extension into the attic. After opening up the roof and pulling ceilings inside, the fire was marked under control. SQ41 returned to service in about an hour.

 


MVA's and Box Alarm

 

November 28th -  E43 and T42  responded to the famous CWP for an AFA around 10:30am. Then units ran back to back MVA's starting at 3:06pm. First, SQ41 and E43 had a motorcycle accident at 1600 LWE. Even with a possible broken bone the rider refused transport. As units were clearing, Co 7 responded for a MVA reported tractor trailer vs a passenger car with entrapment. DC7 had Sta4 units respond also due to their location. SQ7 found negative entrapment and held Co 7. A box alarm to 351 Wolf Ave for the house fire was sounded at 4:32pm. SQ41 found smoke in the basement. The source was a washing machine and crews returned to service.


Box Alarm

 

November 27th -  SQ41 responded for the MVA in the SunnyWay parking lot at just before 6pm. Crews found 2 vehicles with 1 injury. Another Squad run at 10:21pm sent members to 635 LWE for an electrical fire in Hardee's. Units arrived to find smoke from the roof. A roof top unit was found to be the source.


Emergencies Don't Take A Holiday

 

November 22nd -  Members had to leave their family gatherings to extricate 1 person from a MVA. SQ41 and E43 were alerted at 1:19pm for the MVA w/entrapment in the 800 block of LWW. Units arrived to find the MVA in the 700 block of Loudon St. Had 2 passenger cars in a side impact collision. Found 1 driver confined and 2 patients out walking around. Command 44 requested 3 BLS and 2 ALS units. SQ41 made easy work of the extrication then assisted EMS with pt removal. Station 4 cleared at 1:50pm while Fire Police from 4, 1 and 18 remained on scene.

Last Call For Alcohol

 

November 20th - Shortly after returning from the box alarm at the Y, SQ41 and E43 responded on the 8-81 box for a tractor trailer overturned. Units arrived at 1:10am to find a big rig on its side with the driver on top. Crews set up a ladder and stokes basket then lowered the pt to EMS. While checking for hazards, members found the trailer contained 1100 cases of whiskey. The doors remained secured and Command 8 released all units at 1:38am.

 

  


 Smoke at the Y

 

November 19th - SQ41 was alerted for smoke in the building at the YMCA around 11:30pm. Co 1 and SQ41 found towels burning on a gym floor. The fire was extinguished with a PW. Members assisted with ventilation before going in service.

 


 House Fire

 

November 14th and 15th - Station 4 responded to 8 runs between Wednesday night and Thursday. Members started with a house fire in 7's first due just after 10pm. T42 and E45 responded to 65 E Main St in Fayetteville. Units found a small fire in the wall and ceiling area of a single family home. T42 searched and assisted with opening up before going in service at 11:34pm. T42's night would be short with an AFA at 4:48am and a barn fire at 8:37am. Command 51 held 51 and 52 on the barn fire. T42 got another AFA at 12:52pm and SQ41 caught a minor MVA at 2:43pm. SQ41's next run was for the apartment fire at 5:17pm. Units arrived at 122 E. Queen St with food on the stove and returned to service. The last 2 runs were just 2 minutes apart. E45 was alerted at 8:06 to transfer to Co 18 but prior to leaving the station units were dispatched for the AFA at 2075 Scotland Ave. E45 responded to the AFA and had the next due company fill 18's house.


 One On Its Side

 

November 13th - SQ41 and E45 responded to a reported MVA with rollover and possible entrapment. Units arrived at 6:38pm to find a pick up on its side with the driver out of the vehicle. A quick check for hazards revealed gasoline leaking from the fill tube. Members were able to control it and return to service within 30 minutes.

 

  


Veterans Day Parade

 

November 12th - Citizens from Franklin County came out to pay tribute to U.S. Veterans today. Members from area Fire Departments participated in the annual parade. Unfortunately, Station 4 got a run while awaiting their turn in the parade and were unable to attend.

 

The Franklin Fire Company would like to thank all Veterans for their service to our Country!!!

 


House and Auto

 

November 10th - Station 4 members were alerted at 5:12am for a basement fire at 9655 Eden Drive. E18-2 and E45 arrived to find a chair on fire in the basement with smoke throughout the home. Command 18 held Co 18, E45 and T42 to check for extension. Units were in service just after 6am. E45, E43 and SQ41 responded to I-81 mm18 for the tractor trailer fire around 9am but were unable to locate. Members had no problem locating the auto fire at 1768 LWE at 10am. Co 7 ambulance arrived on scene of the auto fire at that location and found an SUV well off next to the building. Communications filled the box. E45 and SQ41 were already enroute and assisted Co 7 with extinguishing the auto before it extended into the building. E45 was alerted for an AFA at 686 Bowman Rd around 1:45pm. Co 17 found a false alarm and placed units in service. At 3:21pm, SQ41 and E45 responded for the MVA on LWW in the area of Burger King. Units arrived in the area with nothing and Communications advised the MVA was now reported to be at the Burger King on LWE in Co 7's first due. Station 4 units returned to service.

Fly Out

 

November 7th - E45 responded to set up a Landing Zone for Co 18 at 8875 Edenville Rd. Co 18 had a pick up truck rolled over with one ejected. E45 arrived at 3:45pm followed closely by Air Medical. Members loaded the patient and stood by until Stat 12 cleared.
