Fighting For Our Freedom
Sept 20th -
Firefighter Troy Bingamen left Saturday morning for another year
long deployment with the National Guard. Troy will spend a few
months in the states before heading to Iraq after Christmas.
Public Opinion Article
Some of those affected by the most recent National Guard call up
and deployment were young families, such as Staff Sgt. Troy
Bingaman, his wife Misty and sons Johnathon, 8, James, 6, and
Jason, 14 months. As Bingaman got ready to board the bus for
Camp Shelby, he gave young James one last hug, urging him to
"take care of your Mom." Misty Bingaman said this was the second
deployment to Iraq she's experienced, so she knew pretty well
what to expect. But she doesn't think her two oldest boys, who
were 4 and 5 when their father was deployed last time, really
remembers his being gone as well. She said Saturday's goodbyes
were not as hard as the goodbyes will be when her husband has to
leave for Iraq after Christmas.
