Walk-In

June 29th -
A citizen walked into the station around noon and stated that his truck was on fire just around the corner. E43's crew extinguished the fire and were back in service within minutes.
Extrication Drill

June 29th -
Members trained on new Res-Q-Jack X-struts and Amkus 22 cutters.

Auto Accident

June 29th -
SQ41 and E43 arrived on scene of this MVA at 1:41am in front of 1016 LWW. Crews were "greeted" by an upset driver who managed to hit everything but the house. After some nice words were exchanged, the driver was turned over to EMS.

June 27th
Amkus 22 Cutters Get First Action and Hay Bale Fire

June 24th -
SQ41 was out on drivers training when alerted for the MVA with confinement at Garfield St and Fairground Ave. E1-4 and SQ41 found a van T-boned by a dump truck. Crews used the 9 day old Amkus 22 cutters to remove the passenger door and B post to free one person then returned to service at 10:05pm. E43 and E45 was alerted at 1847hrs. to assist Co. 18 with a trailer fire loaded with hay bales next to a barn. E43 and E45 arrived on scene and supplied E18-1 with water. Crews then operated 2 hand lines and hooks to pull apart and extinguish approximately 20 large round bales. Station 4 units cleared the scene at 2016hrs.
Truck and Tractor Trailer Into House With Entrapment and Fire

June 22nd -
Members started a busy morning at 4:40am with E43 responding to 5274 Sunset Pike for the AFA. SQ41 handled a medical at 8am then responded at 8:45am to 976 Ritner Highway to assist Cumberland County with a truck and tractor trailer into a house with entrapment and fire. First arriving units found the driver of the tractor trailer pinned and fire from the engine extending into the house. After shoring up the house, crews were able to extricate the driver. SQ41 assisted with overhaul on the first and second floor before returning to service at 10:10am. While SQ41 was in Cumberland County, E43 transferred to Co 52 and SU44 handled another medical.
Two Air Lifted From MVA

June 20th -
E43 assisted Co 8 with a 2 car accident in the 4700 block of MPHS at 2pm. Co 8 units responded for the MVA with possible entrapment and ejection. Command 8 reported two autos off the roadway and requested a total of 4 ambulances, 4 medic units and 2 helicopters. E43 set up the landing zone at 126 Social Island Rd.

Tractor Trailer Fire

June 17th -
SQ41 assisted Co 11 with a tractor trailer fire next to 1050 Superior Ave. Units arrived shortly before 11am to find fire inside a trailer loaded with 1,100 bags of insulation. Crews had to unload the burning material then wet it down before returning to service at 1:18pm. With SQ41 on Superior Ave, E43 handled food on the stove at 1500 Northfield Drive at 12:32pm. SQ41 and E43 responded to I-81 at exit 14 for the MVA. The vehicle fled the scene prior to the FD's arrival. Units returned at 9pm.

Auto Fire

June 15th -
E1-2 arrived on scene of this fully involved vehicle in the 300 block of East King St around 3:30pm. SQ41 was requested for manpower after the fuel lines burned thru causing a flaming trail to run down the road. Crews used 2 lines from E1-2 to extinguish the vehicle.
Fire In The Building

June 11th -
Station 4 responded to 49 Warmspring Rd for the reported building fire. E43 and E45 arrived at 3:24pm to find a large grocery store with nothing showing. E43 advanced a line in Side D and found a room off on the second floor. Members put a quick knock on it and started opening up. Trucks 1 and 9 vented the structure while Squad 7 finished evacuating the building and shut down utilities. Crews wet down and were back in service at 5:26pm.
Truck vs Tree

June 3rd -
Storms hit the area shortly after midnight sending E43 and T42 out the door on two separate runs at the same time. At 7:25am, SQ41 and E43 were alerted to 3901 Wenger Rd for a MVA with possible entrapment. Units arrived to find a pick up head on into a tree. The driver was self extricated upon arrival and turned over to EMS.

E1-2 handled the auto fire in the rear of 148 LWW.
Sta4 wasn't due but we got some good pics.
