November 27th -
Sta4 sent 4 rigs out the door on 3 different calls in 7 minutes
on Friday. SQ41 and E45 went first for a MVA on I-81 at 3:47pm.
E43 was next at 3:49pm for smoke in the basement at 239 E.
Washington St. At 3:54pm, T42 responded for the AFA at 27 N.
Main St. All units were back in quarters by 4:43pm when E45 was
alerted for another MVA on Social Island Rd. |

MVA
November 25th -
The second MVA of the day for SQ41 and E45 was dispatched at
11:02am. Sta4 and Co8 arrived on I-81 at the entrance to the
construction zone to find a minivan rolled several times. Crews
found 3 patients and assisted EMS. |

November 22nd -
Members of the Franklin Fire Company wish Cree Riley a speedy
recovery after suffering serious injuries while on vacation in
Florida.

November 21st -
Truck 42 loaded up members and family from Station 4 and headed
for the Christmas Parade on Saturday. The Truck is a crowd
favorite and usually lands us on the front of a popular website. |

Barn Fire goes 2nd Alarm
November 16th -
Members were kept busy in the afternoon & evening hours of the
16th. Sq 41 responded to the intersection of Stanley Avenue
Extended and Cider Press Rd for an MVA involving a motorcycle at
1424hrs. Crew assisted EMS with the downed motorcyclist. Chief
17 placed Sq41 in service at 1443 hrs. At 1944hrs, just as
members were finishing up with weekly drill on chimney fires,
E45 transferred to Co. 17 while they operated on a chimney fire
in Co. 5's first due. Then at 2305hrs the barn fire alarm was
sounded sending Sq41on the initial for RIT. While enroute
Command 5 requested a 2nd alarm, bringing T42 to the scene. Sq41
crew sent manpower to scene and staged with tools and equipment
on the B and C corner. T42 arrived and set up ladder pipe
operations on side C. Crews worked for several hours till the
blaze was extinguished. Station 4 cleared the scene at 0309hrs. |

First Due House
November
14th -
E45, T42 and E43 responded first due on the box for a reported
house fire with entrapment at 10:05pm. E45 arrived in front of
2154 Sollenberger Rd to find heavy fire showing from a 2 story
single family home. All occupants were out on arrival. Crews
entered the structure with a 2" attack line and found the floor
collapsed in the A and B quadrants. Members advanced a line into
the garage area and put a knock on it. With no floor and signs
of collapse, crews operated off ladders to extinguish the
remaining fire. T42 cut several holes on the roof, laddered the
building and took overhaul operations. Co 17, 18, 8, 7, 14, 13
and 53 assisted with an extensive overhaul operation. Command 44
released all units at 2:16am. |

One Trapped Under A Vehicle
November
13th -
SQ41 and E45 responded around 3pm for a pedestrian accident with
a subject stuck under a vehicle. Staff on scene used a Bobcat to
lift the minivan off the victim prior to FD arrival. Crews
assisted EMS with packaging and requested air medical to the
hospital. After the patient was transported, SQ41 assisted PSP
with a locked vehicle. |

Five Runs For The Squad
November
12th -
Members woke at 5am for the MVA on I-81.
Units arrived at LWE and exit 16 to find a tractor trailer
struck the jersey wall and ripped open the diesel tank. SQ41
handled a small fire under the semi then contained the fuel
leak. Sta4 cleared at 7am. SQ41 responded on a reported kitchen
fire in a nursing home just before noon then released 1 child
from an auto at 5pm. At 8:16pm, SQ41 ran a second box alarm for
smoke in the basement at 898 Blanchard Ave. Crews found
insulation burning above a light fixture. The third fire in four
days for SQ41 came out at 10pm. Co 5 units arrived at 6769
Anthony Highway to find fire showing from a two story duplex.
SQ41 set up RIT on side B and vented the windows on sides A and
B. |

Squad 41 On Another Fire
November 10th -
SQ41 responded on the working fire dispatch at 7:38am when Co 5
units arrived in front of 8673 Wayne Rd with fire showing from a
single story commercial building. SQ41 assisted with opening up
and overhaul before returning to service at 8:38am. |

House Off
November 9th -
SQ41 and E45 were alerted at 1pm for the motorcycle accident.
Units arrived at 640 Boyer Mill Rd to find 1 down in the yard.
Command 44 requested air medical to the hospital as crews
readied the patient for transport. At 3:38pm, the second run of
the day sent SQ41 into Co 11's first due for the reported house
fire. Units arrived to find heavy fire showing from a single
family home. Sta4 members assisted with the attack line and took
another line to the rear then to the second floor. As crews made
entry the fire quickly spread and Command was forced to evacuate
all members. Once the roof was vented and the fire was hit
quickly from the exterior, crews were back inside taking care of
the business as units began an extensive overhaul. SQ41 was
released at 5:38pm just in time to handle a MVA with E45 at 1226
LWE.

Non-Injury Accident?
November 7th -
Initial callers reported no injuries at this accident on
Philadelphia Ave however LT44 came upon it and found one person
confined in the vehicle. SQ41 and E45 arrived just before 10am
and removed the drivers door then assisted EMS with patient
removal. |

Tractor Trailer Fire
November 5th -
A trash truck struck a pole to the rear of 1891 Philadelphia Ave
at 5:33am and pulled the electric lines down on top of the
vehicle. The driver managed to exit the vehicle without getting
electrocuted. Another truck driver wasn't as lucky when his
tractor trailer rolled on its side and ignited a fire on the
I-81 ramp at exit 14. SQ41 and E45 assisted Co 17 and 8 with
this fire at 2:31pm. Crews found the truck on its side with its
load of scrap metal including 3 cars and some flammable liquids
burning. Two handlines were used to bring the fire under
control. SQ41 responded to a third accident at 5:31pm when 2
vehicles collided at Philadelphia Ave and Cornertown Rd. E45 and
E43 ended the day with an AFA at 11:14pm. |

Super Z
November 4th -
E43 and E45 found this zero turn mower well off in the area of
3730 Scotland Rd at 1pm. Members quickly knocked down the fire
and returned to service. |
