June 2010
Fire In The Building

June 30th -
Sta4 responded at 1:51pm on the 7-1 Box for a mulch fire next to the building. E43 arrived at Arby's on LWE to find fire in the walls with smoke throughout the restaurant. E43 opened up and put a line on it containing the fire to the entrance way. E45 assisted with overhaul. Members overhauled and wet down the area. Command released all units at 3pm.
Are We There Yet

June 30th -
E43, SQ41 and SU44 handled a truck fire near the end of the earth in the 10,000 block of Gilbert Rd. Units arrived just after 10am to find a dump truck with fire in the engine and passenger compartments. Members put a line on it and after some overhaul, Sta4 was back in service at 10:42am.

Machinery Fire

June 29th -
Communications dispatched the 18-9 Box for the building fire sending E43 and E45 to 9523 LWW. Units arrived at 11am to find fire in machinery on the exterior of the building. Members disassembled and wet down the equipment before returning to service. SQ41 assisted Co 7 on a MVA reported with entrapment in the 1500 block of Black Gap Rd at 5:15pm. Units arrived to find 3 vehicles and 5 patients but no entrapment. Members worked with EMS to package the patients and control vehicle hazards. E43, E45 and T42 responded to the usual AFA at 2075 Scotland Rd around 6:45pm and 8:30pm.
Basement Fire

June 25th -
E43 and E45 were alerted at 9:07am for smoke in the house. Co 7 arrived at 172 Sandy Circle to find a single story single family home with fire the basement. Station 4 pulled a back up line to side A then assisted with overhaul operations in the basement. Units were in service at 9:50am.
Members Involved In 5 Patient MVA

June 23rd -
After 2 weeks of routine accidents and box alarms, members responded for what they thought was just another routine auto accident but quickly found something worse. SQ41 and E43 arrived at 10pm to find a vehicle rolled over and resting up against the house at 1745 Crottlestown Rd. Crews quickly recognized the mangled blazer as one of their own. As they rushed to help, they discovered another member ejected from the vehicle along with 3 additional patients laying in the yard. Members continued with their normal operations while Command 44 requested additional EMS units and an operations channel. After assisting EMS units with packaging a total of 5 patients, Station 4 went in service and drove directly to the hospital to check on the status of their brothers. We are happy to report that all patients were released that night with minor injuries.
Multiple Victim Accident

June 12th -
SQ41 assisted Co 7 with 2 MVA's with fly outs. The first MVA was at 12:21pm in the 900 block of Skelly Rd. Co 7 found 1 on its roof with all occupants out of the vehicle. SQ41 was placed in service on arrival and the victim was later flown out. A second MVA in the intersection of Rocky Mountain Rd and LWE at 2:56pm sent 4 people to the hospital including 1 fly out. Two patients were loaded into SQ41 where members packaged them while awaiting transport units. SQ41 handled vehicle hazards before clearing at 3:32pm. Members finished the day with an AFA at 5:41pm and an outside fire at 11:43pm.

5th Wheel Fire

June 7th -
SQ41 responded just after noon with Co 7 and 15 for the camper fire on 81 at mm22. E7-2 and SQ41 arrived to find a pick up well off and extending into the camper. SQ41 Team A assisted on the attack line while Team B opened up to expose fire in the camper.
Kitchen Fire

June 6th -
The third run of the day sent E43, T42 and E45 to 1503 Woodland Dr. Units arrived at 7:11pm to find fire on the stove with extension. After opening up and confirming fire was contained to the kitchen, Command 44 released all units.
Back To Back MVA's

June 4th -
SQ41 and E43 handled MVA's at 11:25am and 11:45am. Units arrived on the first accident in the 1200 block of LWE to find 3 vehicles involved. The second accident was in the 2800 block of LWW involving 2 vehicles. Members assisted EMS and controlled gas leaks on both scenes.
