Land Rescue
March 29th -
SQ41 was requested to assist EMS with a fall victim at a
construction site at Fisher Rd and Warmspring Rd at 1129hrs.
SQ41 assisted EMS with packaging the construction worker who had
fallen of the roof, 3 stories up. Patient was transported to a
Trauma Center, SQ41 returned to service at 1152hrs. |

Members Pay Respects and Run 6 Calls
March 27th -
SQ41 had back to back runs just after midnight. First members
assisted the coroner with removing a body from a home in the
44-03 box area. SQ41 cleared that run at 00:17am and responded
on the 7-5 box at 00:23am. Units arrived at 16 E. Main St in
Fayetteville to investigate an odor natural gas. SQ41 assisted
with metering the home but found nothing.
Station 4 went out of service at 10am to attend the funeral
services of Life Member Patti Himes. Patti was a part of the
Franklin Fire Company family for many years and will be greatly
missed.
It didn't take long for members to get back to
business. Crews responded to 4 runs between 8pm and midnight
including a working fire at 637 Pine Mountain Dr. Co 7 had fire
in the ceiling and attic space of a single story home. SQ41
split crews. Team A set up PPV and lighting while Team B shut
down utilities and assisted with overhaul. Units operated for a
little over 2 hours before returning to quarters.

Head On MVA
March 25th -
At 1202hrs, Station 4 was alerted for a Head On MVA at 2363
Philadelphia Ave. C46 arrived to find 2 autos head on, with one
auto off the road into a parking lot striking a third vehicle.
Command requested 2 additional ALS units and 1 BLS unit. SQ41
arrived and assisted EMS with removing and packaging patients.
Vehicle hazards were controlled and Station 4 returned to
service at 1227hrs. |

Two Fires at Building 37
March 24th and 25th -
E45 and T42 responded to Building 37 on Letterkenny Army Depot
at 9:15am on the 24th and 4:58am on the 25th. Co 13 found
machinery on fire inside the structure. During both fires, T42
laddered the roof to check for extension then assisted inside
with overhaul and disassembling of duct work. Units operated for
roughly an hour both times before being placed in service. |

MVA in the Boro
March 23rd -
SQ41 was alerted with Co.1 at 1311hrs for an MVA with
Entrapment. Co.1 arrived to find 2 autos in a T-Bone collision
with confinement. SQ41 arrived and stabilized the vehicles and
assisted with patient packaging. SQ41 returned to service at
1323hrs. |

Another First Due Fire
March 22nd -
At 4:43am, a 911 caller reported a barn fire on Cumberland
Highway in the 11-05 Box Area. E13-1 reported the fire to
possibly be on Sunset Pike. Command 44 arrived at 4970 Sunset
Pike to find fire showing from a 50' x 150' structure and
corrected it to a 44-03 box. E45 advanced an attack line and E43
supplied E45. Crews found the fire involving a piece of farm
equipment and the roof structure. T42 set up lighting and
laddered the roof. After some minor overhaul and a wet down,
Sta4 returned to service at 5:36am. |

Member Hospitalized After First Due Fire
March 21th -
E45, T42, E43 and SQ41 responded to 2 box alarms on in the same
block this afternoon. The first box was dispatched at 2:49pm for
smoke in the house. Sta4 arrived at 743 Lindia Drive to find
plastic melted in the dishwasher and returned the box.
SQ41 assisted on the high angle rescue at 4:50pm. Co 5 had a
person fall 60 feet off a cliff on White Rock Rd. Crews from 5
and 7 had the person packaged and began the long haul out. SQ41
assisted with carrying the victim out.
At 6:34pm, Sta4 units were back to Lindia Drive. This time it
was 780 Lindia Drive, the house directly across the street from
the earlier box. E45 reported a 2 story single family with smoke
showing. Members forced entry on side A, encountered heavy fire
in the attic and quickly put a line on it. T42 laddered, vented
and opened the roof. E43 supplied E45 and assisted T42. SQ41 and
E17-1 were finishing up overhaul operations when a section of
ceiling collapsed sending one member to the hospital where he
was treated and released. One pet was rescued by E45 as they
advanced the attack line. Co 14, 18, 8, 13, 53 and Air 10 also
responded on the box. E45, T42, E43, SQ41 and UT44 returned to
service at 10:13pm |

Extrication and LZ
March 19th -
A MVA with entrapment and fly out was one of five runs on
Friday. SQ41 released E45 from a MVA on Kohler Rd to assist SQ7
with one trapped in front of 3631 LWE around 11:30am. E45
assisted Co 7 with a full roof removal then set up the Land Zone
to the rear of Co 7's quarters. |

Kitchen Fire
March 18th -
E45, E43 and T42 responded at 11:10pm for the reported apartment
building fire just outside 18's firehouse. Co 18 found a small
fire in the kitchen with heavy smoke conditions. After picking
up the hydrant, E45 checked the attic for extension and assisted
with overhaul while T42 investigated the rear. Command 18
released units just before midnight. |

MVA After PD Pursuit
March 18th -
E45 and SU44 were returning from a brush fire shortly before 3pm
when Communications put out the MVA with one trapped under a
vehicle on I-81. SQ41 and E45 arrived to find a pick up truck on
its side in the express lane between the exit ramps. After
stabilizing the vehicle, members removed the windshield to free
the driver. Both the local and express lanes were shut down
while units operated. |

Auto and Truck Fires
March 12th -
SQ41 assisted Co 1 with a vehicle fire in the area of 620
Norland Ave at 3:44am and a truck fire in front of 125 W.
Washington St. just before 7pm. E45 and E43 ran into Co 7's
first due on the box for an odor of smoke at 3301 LWE. Units
arrived at 3pm to find fire in an electrical outlet. E45
transferred to Co 7 while crews picked up. SQ41 and E45
responded with Co 7 on I-81 for the fuel spill. SQ41 found a
tractor trailer accident with a diesel fuel spill on the bridge
over LWE. Units cleared at 11:14pm. |

First Due Building Fire
March 11th -
SQ41 released an infant from a locked vehicle at 10:35am and E45
transferred to Co 17 at 11am then a first due box dumped the
house at 7pm.
E45, T42, E43, SQ41 and UT44 responded to a report of a house
fire on May Mar Dr. Command 44 arrived to find fire showing from
a building to the rear of
1039 Edenville Rd and requested the commercial building
assignment and a WFD. E45 and E43 stretched lines inside while
T42 and SQ41 vented and set up lighting. Crews from 17, 13, 18,
8, 7, 14 and 53 assisted with water supply and overhaul
operations. Command 44 released all units at 9:40pm. |

E45 Takes Tour Of PA
March 10th -
E45 took a 5 hour tour of Franklin and Fulton Counties leaving
at 8am on a transfer to St Thomas then moved to McConnellsburg
then responded on the building fire in Todd
Township, 135 Knobsville Rd and finally transferred
to Mercersburg. While E45 was gone, members handled a box
alarm with E43 and T42 at 8:20am then a brush fire with E43 and
SU44 at 10:20am. SQ41 and E45 responded at 4:36pm on the
electrical fire at 146 Cameo Dr. Co 7 found a fan motor burnt
up. SQ41 set up PPV and returned to service at 5:26pm. |

More for the 9th
March 9th -
SQ41 and T42 responded on another Co 1 box at 7:33pm. Units
arrived at 701 Broad St to find a 2 story multi-family dwelling
with smoke showing. Crews found fire in a laundry room on the
first floor and quickly extinguished it. Upon opening the walls,
members found the structure to be heavy timber with 2 x 4 and
drywall interior walls. Sta4 cleared the run at 8:14pm and
responded on an AFA at 8:15pm. |

Twice on 81
March 9th -
Sta4 and Co 8 responded to an AFA at 4:37am then back to back
runs on 81 at 9:59am and 10:27am. Co 8 arrived at exit 10 to
find a pick up with trash burning in the bed. E8-1 put a line on
it and Command 44 held E8-1 and E45. Units were just clearing
the auto fire with Communications dispatched a MVA at exit 16.
SQ41 arrived to find a passenger car into the fence with 1
patient and held SQ41 and A1-9. SU responded with Co 1 for a
brush fire around 1pm. The fire was quickly contained and units
were back in service. |

Fire at the High School
March 8th -
After the morning fire, a medical and a
transfer, SQ41 and Co 1 responded to investigate a fire in the
high school at 5:48pm. While enroute a Co 1 POV responder
reported a propane heater malfunctioning sending fire into the
ceiling area and quickly turned off the gas cylinder. SQ41
pulled a line from E1-2 and wet down the area. The fire was
contained to duct work and wiring in the ceiling. |
Early Morning House Fire
March 8th -
Members were awakened at 0343hrs for the
House Fire at 28 Obsidian Drive. Units arrived to find a working
fire on Side C. Command 44 requested the WFD. E45 advanced an
attack line and made a quick knock on the fire. Crews were able
to contain the fire to the Side B&C walls without extensions.
Units wrapped up and cleared the scene at 0519hrs. |

SU44 with High Rise
March 7th -
At 1617hrs E45 and SU44 responded to 2020 Letterkenny Rd
for a transformer fire. Units arrived to find the pole on fire
approx. 5ft from the top and 3/4 burnt through. Power Company
arrived, cut the power, and used SU44's Booster Line to
extinguish the fire from the bucket. |

Auto Fire
March 2nd -
After T42 cleared a Box Alarm at 4:30pm,
SQ41 and E43 responded to 875 LWW for the rescue local. Sta4
arrived to find a child's hand stuck in a car door with the keys
locked inside the vehicle. SQ41 made entry into the drivers door
and freed the child at 5:55pm. SQ41 was out the door again at
10:10pm for the auto fire at Cedar and Catherine Streets.
Members assisted E1-2 with extinguishing a full size sedan. |
