Garage Fire Extends To House

Sept 30th -
SQ41, T42 and E45 were alerted at 2:42am for the house fire at 234 Park Ave. Co 1 units reported fire showing from the rear and found a garage well involved with extension into the house. SQ41 searched the house and began opening up on the first floor. T42 vented the roof of the house, threw ladders, set up lighting and assisted with overhaul ops. E45 also assisted with overhaul. Sta4 cleared just after 4am. 
One Into The Woods

Sept 26th -
Station 4 responded for the MVA in the area of 2300 Loop Rd at 2218hrs. Units arrived on scene to find 1 vehicle off the roadway into the wooded area. SQ41 and E45 returned to service at 2231hrs.
Where's That Turn At

Sept 25th -
SQ41 and E45 responded for the auto into a house with entrapment and ejection. Units arrived at 3:22am to find a passenger car on its side in the driveway of 786 Sollenberger Rd. Crews found no one around and minor damage to the house.
Is That Legal?

Sept 23rd -
Sta4 rolled out the door 8 times on Thursday. E45 got the day started at 6:52am with an AFA to 3301 LWE then a transfer to Co 18 at 7:55am. While on the transfer, E45 responded to one call at 9:57am and returned to Sta4 at noon. SQ41 and E43 handled a MVA at Philadelphia Ave and Sunset Pike at 8:55am. At 3:12pm, SQ41 and E45 responded to 4176 Philadelphia Ave for the fuel spill. Members found 25 gal. of diesel fuel on the ground caused by a leaky siphoning device. E45, T42 and E43 were alerted for an inside investigation at 1600 LWE. Units were unable to locate the odor as reported by a customer. A second box alarm sent E45 and E43 to 142 Kennedy St in Marion at 7:50pm for a house fire. Co 8 found food. The third and final box of the day came out at 10:38pm sending T42 to 10058 South Mountain Rd. Command 16 investigated and held Co 16.
Drillin'

Sept 20th -
Monday night's drill covered vehicle fires and the hazards associated with them. Of course it wouldn't be any fun if we didn't light something on fire so we did.

Sept 18th -
The 4th annual gun bash kicked off Saturday with another great turn out. Members from Sta4 and Co12 put in a long day of hard work and maybe had a little fun a long the way. Thanks to all who supported us!

Auto Fire on I-81

Sept 15th -
E45 and SQ41 were alerted at 1324hrs, to Interstate 81 MM15 SB for the auto fire. Station 4 arrived on scene to find 1 passenger vehicle fully involved. Crews put a quick knock on the fire and units returned to service at 1354hrs.
Woods Fire

Sept 14th -
SU44 and E45 responded at 3:45pm for the brush fire. Units arrived to find a wooded area involved. Members operated for roughly an hour before returning to service.
Auto Accident With Fire

Sept 14th -
SQ41 started the morning off at 9:15am by arriving at Falling Spring Rd and Cider Press Rd to find a 2 car crash with fire in the engine compartment of one vehicle. Members knocked it down with 2 extinguishers. E45 and E43 responded on the 7 Box at 11:24am to 3301 LWE for the odor of smoke. The cause was found to be electrical. SQ41 and E45 handled a 3 car accident with 1 injury in the 900 block of LWW at 1:45pm.
Brush Fire On 81 And Crash Just Off 81

*Late Entry*Sept 10th -
E45, T42, E43 and SQ41 responded first due on the box at 7:45am for the report of smoke coming from a building on Franklin Farm Lane. Sta4 found trash inside and held E45. At 12:30pm, SQ41 and E45 were assisted by 2 Ambo's from Co 8 on the MVA at Walker Rd and Franklin Farm Lane. Units arrived to find 2 autos and 2 patients. E45 and SU44 had simultaneous at 4:53pm. E45 responded to I-81 and assisted Co 8 with fast moving brush fire while SU44 was alerted to 112 N 7th St for the mulch fire.
Showing Support

Sept 11th -
Members set up and showed their support as riders traveled past the station on their way to Shanksville in remembrance of 9/11.

Today it has been nine years since one of the worst days in American History. So ask yourself,

Do you remember the 3,000 Innocent Americans that died in NYC, the Pentagon and Shanksville that terrible day?

Do you remember the 343 Firefighters that gave their all?

Do you remember the thousands of US troops that have lost their lives and the many more that have suffered serious life changing injuries protecting our freedom?

Like Bulls In A China Shop

Sept 9th -
SQ41 was alerted at 5:08pm for the building fire. Co 11 arrived to find a 30' x 75' building with fire showing. SQ41 vented the roof then removed the walls and roof on side C. Crews found the interior full of glass bottles and antiques making overhaul look like bulls in a china shop. SQ41 was released at 6:26pm. E45 transferred to Co 11 during the fire and T42 responded on another Box Alarm.

Box Alarms

Sept 8th -
SU44, E45 and E43 handled a brush fire at 1320 LWE around 1:30pm. A phone call to the Chief at 2:04pm reported smoke in the building at 4182 Sunset Pike. E45, T42 and E43 responded as the Box was dispatched. E45 found debris burning in a drain and an electrical short in the ceiling. Command held it with Sta4. While returning to quarters E45, E43 and T42 were alerted on another Box Alarm at 2:49pm. Co 17 was on the scene of a brush fire with possible extension into the building and requested the Box. E45 reported smoke on Divisions 1, 2 and 3. E43 assisted 17 with fire on Side D while T42 investigated the Roof. Units were in service within an hour.
No Break For The Holiday

Labor Day Weekend -
While most people ended their summers with a long weekend off, it was business as usual at Station 4. Members racked up 22 calls over the holiday weekend including 3 Box Alarms, 5 MVA's, 4 Brush Fires, 2 Auto Fires, 2 HazMat's, 1 Landing Zone, 1 Search Detail, 1 AFA and 3 Transfers.
HazMat

Sept 4th -
SQ41 assisted Co 1 with a box truck leaking fuel at 9:25am. Units arrived to find roughly 50 gallons of diesel fuel on the ground and in the storm drain. The truck hit something in the construction zone on I-81 which punctured a hole in the saddle tank  then pulled into the mall parking lot on Norland Ave. SQ41 plugged the leak and worked with E1-2 to control the run off.
Toasted!

Sept 3rd -
E43 responded for the public service call at 11:35pm. Members found a toaster caught fire and melted but never extended into the kitchen.
Dumping The House

Sept 1st -
Sta4 responded for the house fire in the area of 1173 Sollenberger Rd at 12:42pm. E43 arrived at 1277 Sollenberger to find smoke showing from a single story single family home. E43 forced entry, searched and found fire in the attic. T42 vented the roof and assisted with overhaul. E45 supplied E43 and assisted the attack crew. SQ41 controlled utilities and assisted with overhaul. Members had the fire knocked down in roughly 10 minutes. Command held it with Sta4.
