"According to the SOGs"

 

(the Hose Loads SOG is on page 43 )

 

 

     1.    Crosslays: how many feet of shoulder load, how many feet of drag?  How many grab loops?  

 

    2.    Rear 2 inch: how many feet of shoulder, how many drag? How many LARGE grab loops? Nozzle will be

            packed even with hose bed and protected by being looped inside one layer of hose. Does nozzle hang down or

            is it packed even with the hose bed?

 

     3.    Rear 3 inch Yamaha:  how many feet shoulder, how many drag? How many LARGE grab loops? Gated wye

            will be protected by being looped inside one layer of hose. Gated wye will be packed even with hose bed. 

             

     4.    5" supply line:   will be flat loaded with couplings where? All air must be removed prior to loading; how is this 

            accomplished?     

 

     5.    Layout pack: will consist of 25 feet of hose tucked under itself, a hydrant wrench and a 5" steamer cap adapter

            connected to the hose. This will be SECURED by a piece of rope tied around the hose and through the

            hydrant wrench, then left hanging at the end of the hose bed. Are you comfortable with how to prepare the

            layout pack?? If not, have someone go over it with you. 

  

     6.    Dead bed: 3 inch hose. How many feet? Flat loaded with which coupling on bottom and which on top?

            layout pack will consist of 25 feet of hose tucked under itself. 

 

     7.    All hose will be ROLLED prior to being loaded unless otherwise directed by the Officer.

Below find a link to the NIMS online courses.  Please give a copy of your certificate to the Secretary. NIMS is required by several directives and departmental participation is a consideration when applying for grant monies.

Directions for Online NIMS Courses

 

 

1. Click on the link pasted above.

2. At the top of the page you will see " IS List."

3. Scroll down and find IS-100 (Intro. to Incident Command)...click on it.

4. Go to Option 1 (Interactive Web Based Course)...click on it.

5. Log in- if you do not have a password and have never taken an online course, click register.

6. Once you have logged in, follow the directions on the page on how to complete the course.

7. If there are any questions please see Sgt Rebok; he will be glad to help anyone .

8. REMEMBER if you are a Line Officer or ever plan to be one you need to take the IS-200 class ALSO.
